Greensboro,
North Carolina, situated halfway between Raleigh
and Charlotte,
lies in the heart of the Piedmont region, Carolina's lush

Greensboro was one of its first cities to provide fiber
optic networks, providing high-speed Internet access. The
county seat of Guilford
County, Greensboro is an important distribution and
transportation center for the area's manufacturing and
textile industries. Guilford County boasts two major
interstate highways along with the Piedmont
Triad International Airport, and vital rail service. VF
Corporation, RF Micro Devices, Volvo Trucks, Sygenta Crop
Protection and Jefferson Pilot Corporation all are located
here. Fed-Ex has spotlighted the area for a major
mid-Atlantic cargo hub in nearby Kearnesville, projected for
completion in 2007.
The Greensboro and
Guilford
County school systems are ranked in the top 4th of the
nation. Very progressive and specialized schools are found
within the county and there are over 30 private schools. Greensboro
College, Guilford
College, Bennett
College, North
Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University,
and the University
of North Carolina are all found within the city of
Greensboro.
Since it is home
to more than 41,000 college students, Greensboro's nightlife
is diverse and varied. From Latin dance clubs and charming
French bistros, to stand-up comedy clubs and even a 74 year
old barbecue joint, there's always something to do for young
