Rex Healthcare, which is owned by the nonprofit UNC Health Care System expanded its’ Raleigh Surgical Center to maintain its position as the busiest surgical hospital in Wake county. This two year 60,500 square-foot expansion project added to the existing surgical area while the existing operating rooms were still in use. Twelve (12) new operating rooms allow the hospital to shed cramped and outdated surgical spaces, swapping old OR rooms for new ones to allow for latest medical equipment. After the swap, the existing surgical center will be converted to
post-op and pre-op areas. The project highlights are the large monitor skylights, light coves, and operating rooms. This 4 story multi-phased project demonstrates that teamwork and coordination within Precision Walls are key to successful projects.
